This project started as a brand-strategy and design language project that lead to a redesign of their product line. We started with 4-5 devices but the goal was to eventually extend the language across all their brands. As part of the research for the design language guide, we dove deep in to the ergonomics of these devices. Not only understanding proportions and scale, but also different environmental factors such as space, noise, lighting, ventilation and cleanliness. We carefully crafted the design language guide to assist them with creating a more unified brand. (Life Technologies was later acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2014)
